The Sony Group consists of the Game & Network Services (''G&NS''), Music, Pictures, Home Entertainment & Sound (''HE&S''), Imaging Products & Solutions (''IP&S''), Mobile Communications (''MC''), Semiconductors, Financial Services and Other businesses. The G&NS segment mainly includes network services, manufacturing and sales of home video game consoles, and production and sales of software. The music segment primarily includes music production, music publishing, and video media and platform businesses. The Pictures segment includes film production, television production and media networks; the HE&S segment includes television, audio and video; the IP&S segment includes still image and video camera operations; the MC segment includes the manufacture and sale of mobile phones and Internet-related services. The semiconductor segment mainly includes the image sensor business. The Financial Services segment includes the insurance business, mainly retail life and non-life insurance in the Japanese market, as well as the banking business in Japan. The Other segment consists of a variety of business activities, including overseas disc manufacturing, recording media and batteries. |
